In Agatha Christie's darkest thriller, it's 1939 and Europe teeters on the brink of war. Ten strangers are invited to Soldier Island, an isolated rock off the Devon coast. Cut off from the mainland, with their generous hosts Mr and Mrs U.N. Owen mysteriously absent, they are each accused of a terrible crime. As members of the party start to die one by one, the survivors begin to turn on each other. Only the dead are above suspicion.

Cecily, Reggie and Wilfred reside in a home for retired opera singers in Kent. They frequently worked together during their professional careers and each year, on the tenth of October, there is a concert to celebrate Verdi's birthday. Then Jean, who used to be married to Reggie, arrives at the home and disrupts their equilibrium. She still acts like a diva and refuses to sing. But the show must go on in this funny and poignant play.
