Hove, 1971 In the family home (and private practice) of Dr. Wickstead, the household members are dissatisfied and frustrated - with life, with each other and mostly with the sate of their own bodies. As the doctor's flat chested sister Connie orders a contraption to turn the men's heads, emotions run high, and long-hidden desires are exposed (as are a few other things). Meanwhile, the arrival of several visitors in town can only add to the confusion... As the family's haughty self-assurance gives way to absurd indignity, the only cool head is that of housekeeper Mrs. Swabb, hoovering the audience along through the dirty mayhem. Amidst all this, will anyone have time for the desperately forlorn Mr. Pudue? Well, he's only a National Health patient after all...
